Do The Ride Thing is an initiative funded by the East Village Association (EVA) and the city of San Diego, CA. We are exposing residents, business owners, and visitors to alternate modes of transportation by giving them options to navigate to and through the East Village neighborhood of San Diego. Hop on your bike or public transit and leave your car at home - it will be better for you, your wallet, and our planet!
Tune up your ride, fill up your tires and hit the road! Don't forget to strap on your helmet and practice your hand signals, too!
Ready to grind the streets? Wear proper safety gear out there! Try to stay off the sidewalks so pedestrians can safely travel!
Leave your car at home and WALK. Enjoy the sights and scenes that our glorious city has to offer. Get your cardio in while helping reduce pollution, too!
Dust off your old Razor scooter and scoot the 'hood. Feel free to do a few tail whips, but remember to wear safety gear and watch out for cars.
There are so many ways you can help us and Do the Ride Thing! You can use Public Transit! The Green Line Trolley that runs between the Santee and Imperial Avenue Stations stops in East Vilage. There are buses - the 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11 will help you get to East Village! You can use one of our ride share partners. ZipCar and Free Rides both travel to East Village. If public transit isn't your thing, you can use your bike, scooter, skateboard, or share a ride with a friend! With so many options, there's no excuse not to Do the Ride Thing!
